Capri Medical

Capri Medical is developing a next-generation injectable neurostimulator designed to deliver hypoglossal nerve therapy for obstructive sleep apnea through a minimally invasive outpatient procedure, with the aim of expanding access to effective neurostimulation treatment beyond the traditional operating-room setting.

Executive Brief

Capri Medical Ltd. is developing a next-generation injectable neurostimulator for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Neurostimulation is an established alternative to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP); however, current implantable solutions typically require multi-hour surgery under general anesthesia, which can limit access to treatment for eligible patients.

Capri’s implant is designed to be delivered percutaneously in an approximately 20-minute outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, with the potential for same-day therapy activation. By simplifying the implantation procedure, Capri aims to make effective neurostimulation therapy more broadly accessible, moving treatment from the operating room into the clinic or office setting.

The company is advancing its technology toward first-in-human clinical evaluation, with the objective of establishing a less invasive and more accessible approach to neurostimulation therapy for patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
